In Webmaster Woes Day of Focus |

Today is my Day of Focus. I have placed a bunch of power bars in my office to eat while working and have told my family not to disturb me for the next 12 hours. I considered wearing an adult diaper so I could avoid going to the toilet but that was probably going a bit too far  . I have closed my office door so I can focus on a single area of the website so I can bring it to completion and 'find closure'. Usually, my approach to website enhancement is to do a little here and a little there with no significant progress being made in any one area. Today is different...
Today the target of my focus is the Research Library. I have previously updated the library to the most recent release which you can current see here. But in addition to this, I have moved the library to a new domain that will make up part of a ToeQuest Network of websites, all working together on our Quest for a Theory of Everything. I am making additional improvements to the library on the other domain that you cannot yet see. Those improvements include updating the presentation of the articles and organization of images and this is the most time consuming by far. However, once done the articles will look better and be easier to maintain. The separate domain should help with visibility and improve search engine ranking of the articles. I'll use an RSS feed to pull the article summaries onto the ToeQuest home page to give them additional exposure.
My plan is to complete this today and notify all author's of the changes. And I begin now...
