Soul Theory discusses the facts of life, as may be observed by all, to better understand the workings and the purpose of life. It is not based on beliefs but makes one basic assumption at creation and builds on it using observed facts of life to establish the concepts for the theory.
The Soul Theory observes that choice of one’s religion is determined by one’s dormant/active knowledge-profile, and the influence of the religious beliefs of close associates (being family, relatives, schools, religious institutions, friends, and colleagues).
During childhood, with a predominant dormant knowledge-profile, the influence of the religious beliefs of close associates becomes more important, making most children adopt the religion of their parents or other close associates. As one grows up and the different parts of the dormant knowledge-profile become active, through revisions or learning experiences in the current life-cycle, the adopted religion is either wholly accepted or rather questioned as some religious views may be found wanting and/or unsatisfactory. Some people may switch from choice of religion at birth to other religion, which they may find more appealing. Others may give up on religion all together.
It is also observed that there are different religions, each religion advocating to be the true religion. Is there only one true religion? As religion is based on beliefs, and therefore being a mental process, a religion may be seen as a world existing in the minds of people, and maintained through the imagination power of the mind. Without people religion will therefore cease to exist. Existence of different groups of people, with their different religious beliefs, therefore determines the number of religions we may have in the world.
The soul-driver in each human being has the purpose to learn to acquire knowledge and experience to build its knowledge-profile. The soul-driver is therefore curious by nature, and needs answers to several unknowns. Learning experiences of different soul-drivers have provided proven answers to a number of previous unknowns. Technology uses the proven findings of the various learning experiences, for the benefit of mankind, in several fields of endeavor, making it possible for humans to control and shape their environment. What has not yet been proven, stays in the realm of the unknown, and gives rise to beliefs that are sustained by the imagination power of the human mind. Institutional supported and promoted beliefs then becomes the basis for religion. Religion may also be understood as part of a learning process, which we all have to go through in various life-cycles, in this perfect world. Universal truths, when discovered, are applicable to all, and also eliminate the related and associated religious beliefs.
Technology has so far not been able to use the religious beliefs for the benefit of mankind. It is rather observed that only few believers are able to use effectively the mental process called prayer to realize manifestations for the benefit of mankind. The Soul Theory therefore proposes that necessary research be carried out to determine what makes the mental process called prayer effective at all times for only few select people, for example, spiritual healers who only pray once for healing to occur. This understanding, to be derived from the research findings, may then be properly taught at universities to create prayer doctors, who will play their roles to achieve guaranteed results, through prayer, for the benefit of mankind.
Majority of believers fall under the category of religious followers seeking answers to the unknowns from the religious institutions. However, the religious answers to the unknowns, as based on beliefs, are only valid in the minds of groups of people and therefore not universal. Religion is observed to provide direction and purpose for the followers, making people be at peace with nature, one and another, and making hope for the future to be well assumed. Religion tends to meet the psychological, emotional, moral and social needs of its followers, and as per The Soul Theory shows up on the knowledge-profiles of soul-drivers at different revision levels, depending on one's total sum of acquired knowledge and experience from previous life-cycles and the present.
