Michelle put down her margarita. She rarely drank more than one or two. She couldn't help but fear that she too would end up on the floor of the Many Worlds Pub.
"Robert," she replied. "If there were no free will, how do we account for evolution. I believe free will exists, but it is not always practical. It is rare and beautiful to experience, but is not the way of ordinary practice. It should be honored, encouraged in our youth, and recognized as much as the miracle of evolution is."
She was convinced that all things were possible, that free will exists, but that it was rare and precious, and private. Something as wonderful as original thought was also closely related to intimacy. That was difficult to share with anyyone.
"Does my logic offend you, Robert?, she asked. His intellect was as attractive as he was. There was more to Robert than meets the eye. Rare and precious. Shaking away the intimacy of the moment, she looked for his response. She was absolutely sure she did not know what to expect.
