The missing mass/energy is supposed to be dark matter and dark energy. But I believe we can explain it in terms of force carriers. I believe there is a sort of vortex that allows gravitons to leave universes and enter them. The do this freely. The same amount that leaves, comes in, and vice versa. Principle of conservation of energy. There might be parts of the universe where there are these vortex of gravitons, and these are free of mass, yet 'create' the gravity.
