Ooops. Thanks for that David! I don't think evolution is itself unhealthy, I was just wondering what happens when organisms and species disappear because they can't adapt to the negative aspect(s) of evolution. Do they simply disappear from the equation or does their absence have reprecussions? Does it make a difference whether organisms disappear due to unhealthy environments or because they couldn't adapt to healthy ones? One of my pet theories is that we actually exist only to host viruses. (which would be a real kick in the pants, given how arrogant we are!)
Steve, I don't think we are viruses (although see above!) For a long time (pre-history) we lived in harmony with our environment. If the disharmony was innate, this would never have happened. But I think we have strayed from the theme of this thread.
