Michael, this is an interesting idea, because my experience of the scientific community is that it is both extremely inclusive and sometimes extremely exclusive. It is one of the few realms where it seems that colleagues genuinely want to share their thoughts for the pursuit of truth, and if you can build on their thoughts, they welcome it (this website is a great example). There is, however, great ego in the community as well, which dictates exclusivity. Maybe you need both?
