Some things of the ether (and more of the aether, which is the modern theory of it) I find very atractive and in harmony with MEFD. But there are also many points which show failures. Maybe a sort of modifyed conception of the aether would be usefull. But it is not proven. Michelson and Morely developed an experiment to prove the ether, but they failed. A similar idea (but different) is that of the void, Mkirkpatirk has good ideas about the void. Also dleviwing's conception of the void is interesting. Still, I wonder what could explain best the way MEFD works and interacts.
