Excellent questioning and thought provoking post, WM. Sort of like Ben Franklin's "Pain and Pleasure..." I accept the fact we can not know pleasure without knowing pain___it is meaningless, otherwise... I also liked your points about transcendence, ascendence, descendence and inscendence... Keep up the great ideas...
