2006-06-24: Crop Circles - 06-23-2006, 01:17 AM

The next chat session is scheduled for this coming Saturday, June 24th, at 3:00pm Central Standard Time (CST) or GMT-6.

This chat session will lead us into the land of the bizarre. One of the factors that have lead to scientific revolutions in the past was researching the anamoly. Researchers can develop nice theories that explain almost everything about a subject, but sometimes they ignore the aberration or anamoly that falls outside the scope of their theory. It is my belief that these anomolies are crucial to understanding the Theory of Everything.

The topic is ...

Crop Circles

The crop circle could be such an anomoly with clues to the Theory of Everything. What is a Crop Circle. What do they look like. How are they made. What is their purpose. If you think the crop circle is a hoax drop on by anyway. We might just discuss ways to determine that a phenomenon is a hoax. Either way it should be fun.

What is a Crop Circle?

Some ideas that come to mind:
  1. A hoax - some of these are proven hoaxes but are all.
  2. Some kind of military vehicle undergoing testing - I saw an interesting video of a crop circle being created by a shiny fast moving floating ball thing. The filmer was approached by military men when he got too close. I'll try and find that video.
  3. Of alien origin - This is a fun explanation, and could be a topic of a future chat session.
  4. Related to time-travel - I heard an interview where it was claimed that crop circles are time markers that are helpful for time travelers to tell where they are (in time).

Timezone Information

You can use the timezone converter to convert to your local time. Once there, enter the day and time as specified above, then select US/Central in the "From Time Zone" column and your own location in the "To Time Zone" column, then click Convert. Be sure and unclick the "Use Current Date/Time" option. This will give you the time of the chat meeting in your own local time.
