I have herd little about this scientist, though I can say something. Wether he predicted that string theory was correct or not, why would that make him comitt suicide? it makes no sense......

String theory is a theory that NOW has no basic principal, that is true. but this is mainly because of its incredible revolutions and development in which it has gone through a strings-one.dimensional-thery, ending up in what it is today, a mixture of strings, supersimetry, begining of the universe, spacetime....... we could now say that it is in its streight direction of becoming a TOE. I don't see the question on this.
