The Mandelbrot set is just a small part of chaos theory. It’s too bad they used the word chaos for this field of research, because chaos theory is all about generating order. This entire area of science will play an important role in TOE, it will tie in directly with the Holographic approach, a vital aspect of TOE.
Anyway, the most important thing the Mandelbrot set shows us and indeed chaos theory, is that with a finite set of instructions (actually quite small) you can generate an infinite set of objects, complexity. Our universe is the product of a finite set of instructions, as all things are, example, biological organisms. Complexity is manifested from simplicity.
TOE is the search for those few instructions.
