The medium acts as a catalyst in order to bring this vaporous substance of ectoplasm into
this dense physical plane,those on the etheric side (spirit,ie,"dead people")mix the vital
life fluid of the medium with that of the etheric (astral) plane,using what could be termed
as etheric or spirit chemistry,this chemistry allows the flow of this mixture to enter and stay for a while in this realm.

This substance ectoplasm can appear as a,solid,semi-liquid-and liquid,vapour,or gas,in the
last stage as a gas,this can and often does produce a smell associated with a "loved" one
coming through to make contact with you and the other sitters,this might well be the smell
of a pipe smoker,where the smell of pipe tobacco will waft around the room!


Are "Ghosts" who sometimes appear solid,and have actually been touched by others,
acting on a different level,thereby with different laws of expression,as with their appearance there is no medium present? And are they visible ectoplasm,or pure etheric
substance!
