Unlike other terms being popular only recently, antimatter alreadybeen used with a long history, since 1928. The usage of antimater is within mainstream physics and standard modle of elementary particles.

As in wikipedia, Positron is the antiparticle or the antimatter counterpart of the electron. All elementary particles have their own anti-particles. Photon has itself being its antiparticle. They are different only regarding their charges.

Anyhow, why antimatter is so scarce in our nearby galaxies are still open for rival explanations.

In case more differences upon the properties of matter are helpful to build a model, better to coin other new words rather than giving a new meaning to antimatter. This will cause troubles to semantics. Unfortunately, dark matter also got its specific usuage already!
