Actually, this is the concept of a quantum energy that is (at least theoretically) accessable. This energy is fundamental. That is to say that it underlies and permeates everything. Check out the link to the calphysics page on zero point energy. As an acupucturist, I can say that it sounds a lot like the concept of Qi- a discrete, unique form of e- that is more easily qualified than quatified.
