That's great that you bring up zero point energy theunify.
It is my belief that zero-point energy is the ultimate source of energy for the future, and it is the source of all creation and the essence of life itself. Zero-point energy is not only the force found between plates as in the casimir effect, it is also the force that causes the universe to expand, and the force that causes electrons to have a constant charge, and the force that causes freezing water to break apart pipes. This energy in it's most fundamental form is the huge untapped secret of the universe, and what the TOE is designed in a huge respect for.
You may or may not be surprised to know that there is some super cutting edge research being done by good people. These researchers working unbridled by the mainstream are making some fascinating and world-changing discoveries into the nature of the unified field. They are making machines that seemingly create energy from nowhere, (or everywhere rather)! As in true generation. As many of you all know my theory implies that the total amount of energy available to mankind through the mastery of the unified field is the greatest absolute value, 1/0. So it is theoretically possible for these kinds of machines to exist and for us to get as much as we possibly want of it.
I will post a couple of links for you. First of all there is the researcher Kiril Chukanov who has discovered how to make a ball lightning generator that is %500 efficient. He says ball lightning is a macro 2-dimensional quantum object. Now when he says two dimensional he means it is like a sprite in a video game. If you touch the ball lightning on any point on the surface it is like you are touching all points on the surface at once. So really it is almost like a 0-dimensional object. Mr. Chukanov has studied this ball lightning and come up with a unified theory as a result - on par with Volantis's aether model. The theory is able to do many things the standard model aspires to do such as deriving the elementary charge of the electron. Another researcher that many of you know of is Randell Mills who has also discovered an impressive theory via his discovery. His discovery is that he has figured out how to move the electron in the hydrogen atom closer to the nucleus than traditional theory says it can go. This is known as a "less than ground state." When Mr. Mills moves the hydrogen electron to a less than ground state a huge amount of energy is liberated from a more basic state. He has called this the blacklight process and here is the link

Also of note is the research of team Andy Mcquery, Warren York, and Mike Windell. They have been doing some interesting research with cold resonating plasma beams and getting some phenomenal results. In addition to creating so-called over-unity (more than %100 energy efficiency) with their plasma beams they have also been able to modify the crystalline structure of quartz and make it hard enough to cut a diamond, as well as other wonderful unified field effects.
