Aren't there things that are true that cannot be subjected to proof? Can you find them out? For example, one of the results of Godel's incompleteness theorems is that there will always be something that is true that is unprovable. Surely if you know the theory of everything then you know what this one thing is and can tell us?
Anyway, cheers! Just wanted to know if you can tell us EVERYTHING, and wanted to say congratulations on your prediction! Now can you turn it into practical technology and philosophy for saving mankind? That is the charge of the "theory of everything discoverer." |
purveyor of knowledge;29166. There is a difference between a claim of a TOE...which to a physical scientist, means unification of the four forces in nature...the strong force, the weak force, the electromagnetic force, and the gravitational force...and proclaiming oneself omniscient. If I knew everything, I'd be at the track, like the guy from the TV series.."The First Edition". With perfect foresight billions in the market, Vegas casinos and at the track is childs play. That's not my claim, and never has been. I've used that very same scenario in my own classroom.
But, there's room out there for all who contest my claim to check it out. I gave reference to the posts already on the
www.bautforum. I make a few errors here and there, but generally my perceptions of the world of particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology are considered pretty true by many members in the bautforum. The first hallmark of a phony in my world is omniscience, followed by arrogance, denial, and a failure to examine the argument carried to the extreme. Perhaps you will do me the honor of spending your time attacking the physical principles of my carefully laid out arguments. I'm not going to dispute Godel's theorem...it is irrelevant to a unified field theory, which is where the acronym TOE got it's birthing in the 80's.
There is a very practical application to the consequences of this idea, but it is discussed only under disclosure agreement with financial principals. After all, if you figured out what Einstein attempted 50 years before everybody even thought it was worth pursuing..the thirties... you'd have figured out that the socioeconomic and military implications might be sufficiently important that you'd want to have it addressed in the right venues, and be prepared to deal with that. Wouldn't you? Pete.
