MJA / Michael If you consider that you can travel to the past by mind, consciousness or any other means then:
- Can you change it ?
- If so ... then the future and present can not be the only concurrent versions ... each of us would have different ones
- If not so ... then imagine you have lost something ... you could travel back .. observe yourself lose this object ... return, and go straight to the location of the lost object and retrieve it
Either way you have now altered the past on the way it affects the future. We have a possible future without the lost object and a possible future with a retrieved lost object ... courtesy of a re-run of the past.
The only conclusion we can reach is that time-travel appears impossible ..??
Proof: It appears (Wiki) that 2 days ago they located the tomb of Herod of Judea .... you know .. the one whose hobby was infanticide ... How is it Michael that if you and others can return to the past using consciousness that this was not found earlier .. Remember.. even if you can't change the past, the retrieved knowledge of events IS available. Therfore we would be aware of where to locate all fossils, objects, treasures etc ....
This does not happen. The word 'Lost' would have no meaning in our language ?
You will just have to do what I do whenever I lose something. I say a prayer to St Anthony, the patron saint of LOST causes. !!
