Lot's of very original thought on reality can be found in the history of philosophy. While reinventing some of this tradition is a sign of real thinking. But nobody who seriously wants to speak about reality, can just ignore the whole history of thinking reality. This is elementary stuff for any first-year student philosophy, on any university, also the Berkeley University.
