Until recently I would have disagreed with you.

Let me tell you what changed my mind. I recently learned from the given example - of all things - of a school of fish - as they maneuver as a cluster pattern through the water, they dart hither and skelter, as one...
And it is measured - I cannot cite the source at this time but I'll see what I can do about that - they all move simultaneously; that there is no explanation for how they do this, and that the simultanaeity transcends any consideration of light speed transmitted communications.

Conclusion: until further notice, this is consciousness superceding light speed communications (I believe it is particularly noteworthy because it is occurring in water <analogous to absolute solid 'aether'>; that the maneuvering school of fish is contiguous with the water, which is conventionally thought of as speeding up sound waves and slowing down light waves....)
