Well, the original assertion was that, from the right point of view, the universe would have no dimensions. This time we take the point of view that the universe exists as a singularity in the void of nothingness. We would be measuring it from an "outside" point of view so there would be nothing to compare it to (which is what one does when measuring something). What you are describing would be measuring it from the "inside" which changes the point of view ("outside" to "inside").
When I say that we're viewing the universe as a singularity I mean as a whole unit that can't be broken down into seperate pieces. I may have to change the term to something else if the way I am using it is contradictory to its commonly understood definition. Perhaps "single point"?
