Re: Is energy a 2 dimensional entity ( reality )? - 06-16-2007, 02:28 PM

An interesting question. It is possible that when matter is transformed to energy, it could be two dimenstional. However when energy is transformed to mass, would it become three dimensional?? Where would the extra dimension come from??

This appears to be a formula for area; and according to Einstein, when matter hits the speed of light it would become infinitely thin or flat. ( I know theoritically thats not possible ). So if I'm connecting the dots correctly, could I say that when mass is converted to pure energy you are taking a 3 dimensional entity and collapsing into a 2 dimensional entity, and vive versa? Is that right? I would appreciate any comments.

I,m new to this forum, so if this question has already been " asked and answered " I appologize and would appreciate you directing me to an appropriate site.

Thank you

I believe I read somewhere that Light is a 2 dimensional transverse wave.
