Higher consciousness is for when you are alive.
As for consciousness continuing after death, my last ditch effort to save to soul would be to "make up" that if consciousness is a fundamental part of the universe and then it could live on in an unperceptive immortality (since no brain, no memories, etc. to produce anything to observe). |
