In fact Religion could also have been invented by ancient civilizations in discreet pockets of the world. One reason would be, Human beings are sociable creatures, those civilisations did not have any connections neither did they know the existance of other civilisations across the world. Hence to assuage themselves that they are not alone in this Universe, they created the entity 'God' who is supposed to create them and look after them
