You seem to equal TOE to Truth to Freedom.
But first: TOE can't be known with absolute certainty, because we have not an absolute view on reality to check it.
Second, only sound knowledge concerning reality makes us free from bias and misunderstanding - and only in this respect one is able to link 'Truth' to freedom.

Gravitation - see any encyclopedia. And of course nobody knows what this force actually is. We only know in what circomstances it occurs. The same accounts for electricity, consciousness, etcetera.
