| Karma
Karma is often popularly misunderstood in phrases such as:
"You are responsible for whatever fortune or misfortune happens to you".
It is true that, often, what happens to a person is that person's responsibility...
On the other hand, the more appropriate interpretation of karma is:
"You are responsible for what you do".
You may or not be responsible for what others do.
It is noteworthy - in a JudeoChristian culture - that there are so many common misunderstandings concerning the issued word (the meaning of 'karma').
Jesus, for example (so the theology goes), was without sin.
That is, he did not have any 'bad karma'.
Yet. He was tortured to death.
Conclusion: This (exemplary) person was victimized by the bad karma of others.
Misunderstandings of this, can and does lead to 'pesecution of - blaming - the victim' - a popular misunderstanding, if not recreational sport, of Western Civilization.
