I don't know what is meant by this. At least, insight in TOE won't give you freedom. And yes of course, someone who thinks he is on top of TOE will experience a kind of extacy, similar to the experience you get when you listen to for instance Strawinsky's 'Firebird' (especially in the interpretation of Tomita): riding the universe, looking through all things, seeing it's birth, it's growth, it's future. But than unstoppable the magic fades away, and you step outside and experience you still get wet because of the rain - and we have lot's of rain these days.
I think we have to be carefull not to hypostasise TOE into some kind of magical formula, that will turn you into some kind of God. We are part of the system, we are a sub-system, we might see glimpses of eternity, but we still remain subjected to the workings of time and space and everything in that.
Also man is a very varied species, with the effect that there still are people who think the earth is flat and forms the center of everything. You see, knowledge is for few, and TOE - when there - is for the very few. When discovered, it won't give some global event, no halleluja all over the planet, no getting rid of all the problems humans face in everyday life. It will just be the hobby of the very very interested. And maybe on the long run it will do something beneficial, for... well, ok... for the planet, life, us.
