Dear Michael:
The human brain both transmits and receives - a transceiver; to and from the universe.
It is unlikely that (especially in view of recently proven facts such as the formerly hypothetical 'butterfly theory' <cause & effect> ) conciousness does not play a profound and fundamental part in the universal status quo. As it has been, as it is, and as it will be.
Your tenacious and elegant - diversity studded - stand on the importance of the role of consciousness borders on obsession: because, for the most part I suppose, you realize that consciousness is generally excluded from physics, qua physical science as it addresses the universe.
Without consciousness, the abyss would not know how to look back at us, for example... In a few more words, Michael, I am in general agreement with practically all of your perspectives and posts, though they may sometimes be redundant. You have a wonderful axe to grind and your own gift of delivering it to an ever finer adjoinmnent.
(A word from Albert - 'The Axe' - Einstein:
A human being is a part of a whole, called by us 'universe', a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.)
Personally, I do not see how consciousness can be rightfully excluded from any principle of unification.
Best regards to you and yours, Michael.
Please stay with your work and go where your consciousness bids you to venture.
