The fastest growing violent crime in the nation is rape.
A remarkable percentage of polled people don't know this (priority issue of public endangerment).
It would be more easily recognized as a grievous national affliction (a symptom of a deeper running malady, namely the ongoing <'What?"> epedemic of violence),
except, in many states it is not called - or otherwise identified as being - what it is...
No indeed, in many legal cases, if rape happens to a man it is called 'assault'.
If the same thing that happens to a raped woman, on the other hand, happens to a child, it is called 'molestation'.
The measured rape rate ('is going down') would be much higher, if it was uniformly recognized and categorized for what it is, rather than on the Orwellian language twisting and communications trashing standard of who the identically raped victim - and their age - happens to be.
