It is an abstract 4 dimensional space-time axis. Then assuming the entire universe has such an axis and each person also has such an axis. The greater is the angular distance between these axes the more these axes increase their independence. At 90 degrees, the time axis and the space axis become completely independence. But any angle greater than 45 degrees encroaches in the forbidden zone of pure space and thus entering a space-time domain where it is possible to live forever.
