There is nothing metaphysical about 'emergence'. It is something you meet when looking at complex processes. And its saying that cartesian analytical method isn't sufficient for explaining researchable reality: we also have to look at the phenomena themselves - and not just their components, and components-components, etcetera - in trying to explain them, their properties, their behaviour, their different ways of being.
