One thinks one has an answer to your question Dipayankar.

The value of the total amount of energy available for creative applications of all manner and kind is an undivided value of absolutely magnanimous proportions. THis value one speaks of flies in the face of the "conservation of energy" because conservation can only be applied to a limited resource, whereas the great possibility we are dealing with is that the total amount of energy available for creative applications of all manner and kind is limitless.

The laws of thermodynamics which infer the conservation of energy were written before the discovery of the big bang and the expansion of the universe. Your question is very relevant because if energy is conserved, then we must know where the energy comes from. The problem is that we do not ultimately know where energy comes from.

As one mentioned the great possibility we are dealing with is that the total amount of energy that lies in the place where energy originates from is actually an undivided value of absolutely magnanimous proportions. It may be such a number that no matter how much is subtracted from it, it never changes it's value. Such a possibility is indeed titillating and warrants our existence in the cosmos.

As far as how or why the big bang began, it is entirely conceivable that the universe happened for the reason, that it is possible to send something faster than TSOL. This would set up a sort of causal time loop whereby it is possible to send something faster than TSOL because the big bang happened, and the big bang happened because it is possible to send something faster than TSOL.
