I agree, but wish to interject that mathematics is also a Tool used in the Communication of conceptual ideas and observations.

The constructions of concepts that may or may not be observable in nature.
In some constructs there is great beauty of design and wonderment of existence.
There is escape from reality, as others know it, into a world of structure and form that yields comfort. For others it is a world of melancholy.
