I think a basic trait in mankind is to be honest, and I think we are up to the age of 2 or 3, but then society conditions us, to avoid punishment or to obtain reward, to lie.
Very unfortunate. Maybe thats one of the reasons we have to be like children to enter the kingdom.

I've notice that even if a child comes clean, let's say he stole something, and admits to doing it, he still gets in trouble. So people lie to avoid the trouble. We get punished for being honest and punished for lying, it doesn't make sense. I never punished my child for being honest. But I do know that most people don't like it also. What's most disturbing to me is when someone calls me a liar when I am being honest.
