'Split psyche' refers quite simply to our split from the Natural world. I think this has caused us psychological grief! .............All this is enough to force a new kind of survival technique to appear, and that is our imagination. This "split psyche" is what I call the "split instinct". The human is an anomaly in that it is governed by two primary motivators "emotion and intellect". It is these that cause us to be "free willed". All other organic life is governed by one unified motivator - "instinct" its "will" is automatically TRUE to being what it IS.
Under instinct an organism can only be true to itself and does not try to bring about what it is not...it does only what is necessary and has no concept of good and bad...yet lives its life to the fullest.
We are essentially creative - but we unfortunately have created ideas of "good and bad" that have brought about much pain and suffering in the amoral natural world. Throughout this forum I have been saying EVIL is the defacement of life.
