Recently I have been having some interesting conversation with my dad about the infinite and finite. Personally I believe God cannot be defined although I do have a few words to describe what he/she/it is. God is in infinite. He is not bound by time or space. He has no beggining or end. If he has no boudaries and is not confined to any certain space or time than it would be insufficient to give him names or words as we do the things here in our finite world.
Another thing that comes to mind is if he is infinite how can he interact with the finite. The best answer I can give is that he doesn't. In biblical text when someone says they have seen or spoken to God it is actually the angel of the Lord they are referring to.
Just a thought.
