Actually I believe something big happened ~600 BC.
Suddenly you had some of the greatest thinkers coming out.
This includes BUDDHA, LAO TZE, CONFUCIUS, ZOROASTER, MAHAVIRA, ISAIAH, and PYTHAGORAS.
Maybe that has something to do with Julian Jaynes theory?
