I think we are only as responsible as we make ourselves. That a sinner or a saint is not responsible for who they are, and more importantly we are the ones who judge for ourselves who the sinners and saints are.

Can we really have a choice in who we are, if we have no other choice than to make the choices we make? If not, and this penetrates the subconscious mind to where guilt is held in the heart, then there is no need to be forgiven because we can forgive others and ourselves.
