The demand side is even more mysterious. There is an amazing need! Hollywood, the Royal Family, celebrities, popes, movers-shakers etc etc.
Before we comment on the mental and emotional impoverishment of those suffering from this need we should consider its "relatives" which begin to have some tribal survival value.
Such are I think medicine men, traditional things (so they don't have to be reinvented constantly, habits), respect, authority rightly placed.
Unfortunately these tribal things take on a life of their own and perplex the individual who tends to act more "scientificly" on his own behalf. |
