number of souls in the universe - 08-23-2005, 09:19 PM

The energy of a single soul (spirit) is about .0267139 eV (electron volt). The total Planck energy of the universe is 10^{19} GeV (billion electron volts). By simple division, the universe accomodates 3.74336956 \\\\\\\\times 10^{29} souls or in binary notation rounding to the next hundred whole number is 2^{100} souls.

In order for God to keep track of all these souls, He only needs at the least a 2,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000-bit computer. Equivalently, each soul weighs 4.7630884 \\times 10^{-38} kilogram or 1.0500812 \\times 10^{-37} pound. The mass of an electron is 9.10938188 \times 10^{-31} kilogram. Hence a soul is 7 factors of ten lighter than an electron but as long as it has a mass, it can feel the gravitational force.
