I guess the accelerators would have to be a whole lot larger than CERN to reap any really good results. Like hundreds or even thousands miles in circumference. Not to economically feasible for any time in the future. But who knows, I believe it is the largest accelerator and may be for some time since the USA gave up on its ~ 60 mile super accelerator that was going to be constructed in Texas. So its the best we have for the time being.

Quite honestly I'm not sure if the money is better spent on outer space, i.e Hubble, NASA, Skylab. or inner space ( accelerators ).

Where do you think the scarce resource dollars ( Euros ) should be spent?
