The main question of why the ToE is needed is lost in this thread. ToE in my mind will help us in:

1) Preserving the earth
2) Elevating the energy crisis
3) Looking at other places where we can have a future habitat
4) Do away with all the misconceptions of humanity and hence help humanity progress...

Any other ideas??
