sorry Pat i was jumping the gunn there a bit, so i we saying that gravity does compress, i suppose as it enters a black hole there would have to be some form of compresion maybe the black hole strips out certian elements of gravity, leaving gravity in its purist form.
but as for the chicken or the egg, gravity could of been the first.
