Thank you, Benedict.
I am familitiar with TED, but had not viewed the presentation by Jill Bolte Taylor - excellent! I have never heard a description of the brain in quite the terms Ms Taylor uses. She expresses her unique experience of "two worlds" very eloquently. I hope I am accurate in my interpretation:
The left brain is the linear processor. It is dynamic: dissecting and categorizing the past and employing various forms of language to communicate the possible/the future. It is also the conduit between our mental and physical existence, discerning individuality/self-awareness/the "I am..."
The right brain is the sensory processor: experiencing the energy/"lifeforce power" and creating the perfect, peaceful, present - the consciousness of "being" that is immutable/all encompassing/infinite/eternal.
It's as though we are the embodiment of two entirely different dimensions or parallel universes: "Was/Maybe" and "Just Is," though I think only ONE of them is capable of expansion... "What a fragile balance between the indispensable and the sublime." Hans Blumenberg
