Over 15 years ago I studied about the subject of 'Life after death'. I studied all the books I could find on near death experiences, the Tibetan book of the dead, the Bhagavad Gita, the reborn aspect of Christianity, all the ancient tribal beliefs, and more.
When I put all that information together, I came up with an over view that I hold in my mind, that directs how I live my life today.
Here are my thoughts on 'Life after death', based on what I have studied, and what I have concluded from my own contemplation:
All living things are moved by a living soul. This soul is an entity of experienced energy that acts like a living DNA. It holds all information of past experiences and thus influences present experiences. Individual Soul's have evolved from the basic life forms. Our souls have taken a long road to get to possessing a human. An understanding of this evolving nature of soul, can be seen in the teachings of ancient tribal shamans.
Once we have elevated to the human experience, things then got complicated. This complication comes from the soul interacting with the human mind. I see this complication arising, because of the 'persona' that is created from the interaction of the experienced soul and the instinctual nature of the human animal. There is a constant war going on between the soul, and human instincts, through persona, every moment. This complication can best be understood by studying Buddha's teachings.
The soul is an evolving entity that can take many paths. It can take the path of regression, which is allowing the instincts of the animal it exists in, to rule its life and future lives. Or, it can take the higher evolved path, which is a path of wisdom. The path of wisdom evolves the soul to the point where it no longer grasps, at the wants of the material world, thus giving it the ability to exist in a higher plane of existence. This higher plane of existence is what we could call, the 'after life'. One can only stay in this after life when one is void of grasping at needs, and instead only emanates outward to touch its surroundings. An understanding of the "Emanating soul", can be best seen in the teachings of Jesus.
Those soul's who grasp at the material world, come back from the 'after life', to the human experience, to hopefully seek and not grasp.
Those soul's that have become corrupted because of grasping, fall in to a purgatory of regret. This regret is horrifyingly painful to the soul, when it is left with only its experiences, and no persona to hide in. This is why they have a hard time escaping from this purgatory, because of there desire to hide from their regret. Those soul's that have been totally corrupted from grasping and are left with no emanating nature what so ever, fall into a hell that feeds this grasping, for ever. You see this corruption everyday in the news, of those who grasp to the extreme, and the horror they inflect on their victims. An understanding of this aspect of the 'after life', can best be seen in the Tibetan book of the dead.
The 'after life' is an evolving domain just as earth is. It is a domain that has evolved from the interactions with evolving soul's sense life began. It is a domain that follows all the laws of our existence here on earth, plus those that we can only know of, in the 'after life'.
So, live life to the fullest, without hurting others, and work on becoming an "Emanating soul". |
