No no no. Please read my posts before making wild conclusions, it gets somewhat annoying having to repeat everything twice before you actually read it.

I never said truth is harmful to society. I said faith in the infallibility of your beliefs is harmful. You are not all-knowing, your ideas CAN be wrong, and acting like they can't is nothing but lying to yourself.

And I never said it was impossible to reach the truth. I was saying that you should keep doubt in order to process information logically. Removing doubt so you can accept an idea is the exact opposite of what you want to do. If you remove doubts on any idea it becomes true only to your own mind. If I have no doubts that a giant Flying Spaghetti Monster causes earthquakes then it would be 100% true to me, but that doesn't make it right.

There is a reason you should have doubts, and it is only when it is proven without a doubt, that you can start feeling comfortable with its certainty.

I have my own ideas, but I'm not going to go around belittling everyone who doesn't agree with me. I believe them because as far as I've heard they are the ones that make the most sense to me. But I wouldn't ever think that they are infallible, because I DON'T KNOW.
