It can be done for a finite number of particles. What cannot be done is to keep track of one single particle and its forces from all other particles, say 24-7-52 (24 hours, 7 days, 52 weeks). Similar problems were encountered using Newtonian mechanics (the clockwork universe of absolute time and space) until the advent of analytical mechanics using variational principles, notable one being d'Alembert's principle.
