Dear Greg, it is the human mind which not only creates genius like you, but ‘creates’ wise like Melanie. Some are satisfied to have knowledge of the external world but some more venturesome like Melanie goes a step further and try to ‘know’ the very composition of the mind! They realize it is for more important to know ‘thy-self’! The only difference is some are satisfied by conquering the Mt.Everest but some like Melanie prefers to conquer the ‘self’ than knowing the things-of-the-world which already exist. Brother knowledge of the external world is as essential as in knowing the fundamental reality of the ‘self’ i.e., as to what it is that constitutes it----the self, the mind. The subtle reality of human being is the mind: Some conquer the world, some conquer the mind, but the tool with which this vanquishing act is accomplished is, the mind it-self.
The ‘Divine’ was/is known by the same way as is known the external world i.e., by using the tool of intelligence, which is one of the quality of the mind.
All functions of the body (traits) are natural, so long these don’t harm the society, hence moderation. These become animal traits the moment we, the civilized/evolved human being are completely dominated by them and make them as a way of life. The alternative is the value (human values) based life. Genuine spiritualism helps in blossoming these values in us; with the result we become less harmful and more helpful to the society. What is the harm/negativity about this?
Lastly, if we sieve out all the irreverent data stored in our mind, the balance won’t exceed the 10% limit. My dear friend, intelligence is creativity, not imitation or duplication. You may decide yourself as to how much creativity is there in the world? (You excluded as LG, Fredrick, and the unforgettable NOBODY)
