If your self is always living in the past, how on earth would one make any progress?

My physical self, my body, lives in the past. My spirit , the I AM, lives in the HERE and NOW. My body follows and experiences it only AFTER it has occurred in the HERE and NOW. IT creates the illusion for my body to experience.
