I have had a VERY similar experience. It is part of the reason why I'm participating in TOE Quest. If you don't mind, I will PM you to compare notes.
I'm also not afraid of death. It's obvious that we are physically the "re-cycled" with a twist; the twist being the DNA component. It is only after my NDE that I absolutely know we are spirit as well. One impression I have of the experience is that it was so right, like "going home." I, too, did not want to go back. The entity with me communicated without words but none the less very firmly sent me back...
