Yes but consciousness was present before the zygote formed.
It was latent, until sensation senses are known, re-cognized via the brain, creating a reality.
We could in fact say reality arises via consciousness on contact with the senses, working together concurrently.
Which in effect means existence and non-existence arise in conjunction with each other.
A simultaneous phenomena.
'Appearing' to go on Forever and ever.
Which is good and not so good news.
Depending how you see it.
